Google has announced it will now alert its search users when its algorithms detect pages that may not work on their Smartphone or tablet.
Adobe Flash, for example, is not supported on iOS devices or on Android versions 4.1 and higher, so when a page whose contents are mostly Flash pops up, it typically either comes up incomplete or results in a blank screen.
“Fortunately, making websites that work on all modern devices is not that hard: websites can use HTML5 since it is universally supported, sometimes exclusively, by all devices,” says software engineer Keith Oda and Webmaster trends analyst Pierre Far in a joint blog post.
